All agents know that the paying of referral fees has been a common practice within the real estate industry for many years.

The practice of paying referral fees between real estate agents is highlighted in literature from most of the major franchise brands that operate in Australia.

These franchise groups operate thousands of real estate offices across Australia and in their literature they openly encourage the payment of referral fees between agents for new customers.

Q 2 THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE BEEN INVOLVED WITH SELLING, WHAT SHOULD I DO ?

If you have made up your mind to sell we would advise you to use a real estate agent to help you through the selling process.

Despite the fact that the real estate agents fees are high a good agent should ultimately increase your sale price.

A good agent will definitely increase your final sale price, finding a good agent can be a challenge, if an agent refused to participate in our refund system, for me that would be a warning about that agent.

Q 3 WHAT IF THE REAL ESTATE AGENT DOESN'T WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS SYSTEM ?

If a real estate agent does not want to participate in this system that is their choice, but remember that over 95% of agents we have contacted are happy with the of paying referral fees.

Our recommendation to you as a consumer would be to consider not using that agent.

As there will be only one or two reasons why.

1. They don’t want to refund back to you some of your own money !

2. They don’t want their service levels monitored and rated by their own customers !

Would you really feel comfortable giving the keys to your home to an agent that thinks like that ?

Q 4 HOW LONG HAS YOUR SYSTEM BEEN AROUND ?

The idea for our real estate agent refund system was first put on the internet in a trial version in late 2005 our original concept site for this business is refrealestate.com.au

As our idea was a completely new and original concept to pay a refund on referral fees and as it has been developed by our business there has been numerous improvements to how the system works. realestateagentrefund.com.au was launched in May 2008.

The response from consumers has been extremely positive and grateful. The good news is many good real estate agents have been extremely supportive as well.
